The best free email signature generators all make a decent single signature for nothing. They differ in what happens next: whether you need an account, whether your logo is hosted for you, whether the free version has a catch, and what happens when a second, a tenth or a fortieth person needs one. This article checks nine of them against their own pages, in October 2026, and says plainly what is free and what is not.
We make emailfooter, which is one of the nine, so treat the verdicts as coming from one side. Every fact about another tool comes from that tool’s own site. Where a page did not say, the table says so, rather than guessing.
Best free email signature generators: the short version
- For one person who wants a signature now, HubSpot’s generator is the simplest: free, 12 templates, no account on its page.
- For a team that needs the same design everywhere, a free generator is the wrong shape. Look at emailfooter (free if you host it) or a paid manager.
- Several of the best free email signature generators are the free front door to a paid product. Banners, analytics and team features are usually the paid parts.
- Always ask where the logo is hosted and what happens if you stop using the tool.
What “free” means here
“Free” covers four different things, and mixing them up is how people end up surprised:
- Free to use, no catch. The tool does the whole job at no cost.
- Free plan, with limits. One signature, a few templates, or the tool’s own badge on your signature.
- Free trial. Full features for days, then payment.
- Free software, paid hosting. The software costs nothing, but you run it.
The best free email signature generators fall into all four groups. The table below notes which.

Notes on the best free email signature generators, one by one
HubSpot
HubSpot comes first among the best free email signature generators here because it asks for nothing up front. On its generator page in October 2026, HubSpot says the tool is free with no hidden costs, no trial period and no account required. You get 12 templates, logo and social links, and a handwritten signature option. You copy either the formatted signature or the source code and paste it into Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Yahoo. The page also says images must come from a link: you upload your logo to an image host and paste the address. For a longer view, see our HubSpot generator alternative article.
Zoho Toolkit
Zoho’s page says you can create as many signatures as you need at no cost. It offers four pre-built templates, and none of the fields is mandatory. You can copy the signature into your email composer, or download it. For the logo, the page suggests staying within 300 by 100 pixels, as a clear PNG under 2 MB. Whether an account is required is not stated on the page.
Exclaimer
Exclaimer’s generator page lets you design a signature and copy the HTML into Outlook or Gmail. Its own FAQ is open about the limit: you could build a signature for each team member one at a time, or use Exclaimer’s paid product to roll signatures out across the company. Our Exclaimer alternative article covers the paid side, with prices from its pricing page.
MySignature
MySignature’s page says it has a free plan, that you can start in the editor without an account, and that you need an account to save, copy and manage the signature. It says paid plans add advanced designs, tracking, analytics, team features and removal of its branding. On its pricing page in October 2026, the paid Core plan was $6 per user per month, billed yearly, and Connect was $7.
Gimmio
Gimmio’s pricing page FAQ says you can use the free version, but to create completely custom signatures and get the premium features you need a subscription or a single-signature purchase. The editor we opened showed “Your signatures (0 of 1)” and “Sign up to create more”. For five people, its pricing slider showed a five-signature package at $49 a year.
NewOldStamp
NewOldStamp’s generator page says the free version gives simple templates and basic customisation, and that banners, analytics, team management and “no branding” require a paid plan. It also notes that the generator is not available on mobile. Our NewOldStamp alternative article has the paid prices from its pricing page.
Canva
Canva’s page offers a drag-and-drop editor and templates, and says you can design a signature and have the team change the personal details. It describes the result as a signature in “a single image”. An image-only signature behaves differently from a text one, so read our note on image email signatures before building a company’s worth.
LogoAI
LogoAI’s page says “completely free”. You upload a photo or logo (PNG, JPG or WEBP), choose from three styles, enter your details and up to three social links, then copy the signature or download the HTML.
emailfooter
emailfooter is a free WordPress plugin made by Ulrea. Among the best free email signature generators in this list it is the odd one out, and the only entry here designed around a shared company design: the admin sets layout, colours, logo and legal footer, and employees fill in their own details and follow numbered steps for one of 16 mail apps. The catch is hosting, which is on you, and the manual install: there is no automatic push to mailboxes and no click tracking, and it is English only for now. If you would rather not run a site, emailfooter Managed is the same software hosted by us.

Which of the best free email signature generators fits you
Match the tool to the situation, not to a ranking. None of the best free email signature generators suits every company.
| Your situation | Closest fit |
|---|---|
| One person, no account, ten minutes | HubSpot |
| One person who wants a designer’s tool and does not mind an image | Canva |
| You may grow into banners, tracking or team management | MySignature, Gimmio or NewOldStamp, whose free versions lead into paid plans |
| A company that needs one locked design for everyone, and can host a plugin | emailfooter |
| A company that wants signatures installed for it | A paid manager. See the software built for teams |
Checks before you pick from the best free email signature generators
- Where is the logo hosted? If the tool hosts it, find out what happens when you stop using the tool. If you host it, make sure the address stays live.
- Is there a badge? Some free plans add the vendor’s branding to your signature.
- Does it make real HTML? Most do. Image-only output is a different trade-off.
- What does the second signature cost? Free for one person is a different offer from free for a company.
- Does it fit your mail app? Check the install steps for the one you actually use.
Whichever of the best free email signature generators you try, our guide to free versus paid generators goes deeper on that trade, and the page on the free email signature generator covers using one well.
Frequently asked questions
Which of the best free email signature generators should I pick?
For one person, HubSpot’s generator is the simplest of the best free email signature generators we checked: free, 12 templates and no account on its page. For a team that needs one shared design, emailfooter is built for that, but you host it.
Are the best free email signature generators really free?
Some are, such as HubSpot’s and Zoho’s, according to their pages. Others have a free plan with limits, like MySignature and Gimmio, where team features and customisation sit behind paid plans.
Do the best free email signature generators work in Gmail and Outlook?
The ones we checked say they produce signatures for Gmail and Outlook, which you paste into the mail app’s settings. Check the install steps for your own app first.
Can I use a free generator for my whole company?
You can, but each person builds their own, and nothing keeps the results consistent. A shared design, as in emailfooter, or a paid manager is the more reliable route.
Do free signature generators add their own branding?
Some do. NewOldStamp and MySignature both list branding removal among their paid features. Check before you send to clients.
