If you are weighing a NewOldStamp alternative, start with the one question that decides most of this: do you want signatures pushed into mailboxes for you, and are you happy to pay per signature for that? NewOldStamp does the pushing. emailfooter, which we make, does not: every employee installs their own signature from a shared design, and the plugin itself costs nothing to use.
We make emailfooter, so read this as a comparison from one side. To keep it fair, every statement about NewOldStamp below comes from its own website, which we opened in October 2026, and each is dated. We are plain about what emailfooter cannot do.
The short version
- Pick NewOldStamp if you want signatures deployed through Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, banner campaigns, click analytics and onboarding help, and a per-signature yearly fee suits you.
- Pick emailfooter if you want a free, self-hosted tool, your team is fine installing signatures by following steps, and you want the data on your own WordPress site.
- A NewOldStamp alternative is not always the right move. If you need automation, stay with a managed tool.
What NewOldStamp offers, from its own site
On its home page in October 2026, NewOldStamp calls itself email signature management software. It says you can create signatures from master templates for different departments, deploy them “in one click” to all employees’ accounts without involving IT, add targeted banners with call-to-action buttons, and track banner impressions and clicks in real time. It lists integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365.
It also runs a free signature generator. Its generator page says you can use the free version “to create your email signature using simple templates and basic customization options”, and that banners, analytics, team management and removing the NewOldStamp branding need a paid plan. For one person, you copy the HTML into Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail. The page adds that the generator is not available on mobile, so you need a larger screen.
These are NewOldStamp’s own descriptions. Check its pages for the current position before you decide.
NewOldStamp pricing, read in October 2026
NewOldStamp prices by the number of signatures. On its pricing page, a slider runs from 1 signature up to 200, with a custom plan above that. Every figure below was what the slider showed on 4 October 2026, billed annually, in dollars:
| Signatures | Price per year | Shown as per signature, per month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $54 | $4.5 |
| 5 | $109 | $1.8 |
| 10 | $219 | $1.8 |
| 20 | $399 | $1.7 |
| 50 | $799 | $1.3 |
| 100 | $1,599 | $1.3 |
| 200 | $3,199 | $1.3 |
| More than 200 | Custom | Contact sales |
The page lists one set of key features for every size: the signature generator, centralized management, automation, banner campaigns, analytics, Google Workspace and Office 365 integration, customer support and onboarding. It offers a free 7-day trial. Per its FAQ, you can create and edit as many signatures as you like during the trial, but you cannot start using them until you upgrade. It also says a signature keeps working only while your subscription is valid, and stops when the subscription expires or you delete the account.
Separately, the page lists special deals for non-profits, education, startups and agencies, all by contacting the company.
Is emailfooter a good NewOldStamp alternative?
emailfooter is a free WordPress plugin, released under the GPL and made by Ulrea. There are no paid tiers inside the plugin and no limits on companies or employees. What you pay for is your own hosting, domain and email delivery.
The company admin designs the signature once: ten layouts, 24 colour themes, a logo and an optional legal footer. Each employee accepts an invitation, edits only their own details with a live preview in light and dark, and follows numbered steps for their mail app. There are guides for 16 mail apps. If you would rather not run a site, emailfooter Managed is the same software hosted by us, priced on request.
Here is the kind of signature the engine draws:

Where NewOldStamp is the better choice
- You want signatures to appear in every mailbox without asking anyone to do anything.
- You run promotions through a banner in the signature and want to see clicks.
- You want onboarding help and a support team, not a plugin and a documentation page.
- You would rather not run a WordPress site, and you want prices you can read on a public page (emailfooter Managed is priced on request).
- You have a small team, and a yearly fee of $109 for five signatures is less trouble than hosting something yourself.
emailfooter does none of the automatic parts. It does not connect to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 to push signatures, it does not sync with a directory, and it does not count clicks.
Where emailfooter is the better NewOldStamp alternative
- Cost at scale. A team of 50 pays no per-signature fee. Hosting, a domain and email delivery are the costs.
- Ownership. Staff details sit in your own WordPress database, and you can read and change the code.
- No subscription to keep alive. Signatures are HTML that employees paste into their own mail apps, so the text does not depend on a vendor subscription. Logos and photos are still served from the site that runs emailfooter, so keep that site up.
- Agencies. Turn on Agency mode and run many client companies from one install, with your own name and logo on the app.
- Simple scope. One shared design, locked colours and layout, employees edit only their own details.
The trade-off is the same one as with any NewOldStamp alternative that is self-run: you save money and keep control, and you give up automation.
A worked example: a 25-person office
Take an accounting office with 25 staff. On the pricing page in October 2026, the slider put 25 signatures at $449 a year, billed annually, with deployment, banners and analytics included. That works out to roughly $37 a month for the whole office, and nobody has to touch their mail settings once an admin has connected the integration.
With emailfooter, the plugin line on that bill is $0. The real costs are somewhere to host it, a domain and an email service for invitations, and a few minutes of each person’s time to install. If the office already pays for a WordPress site, the extra cost may be small. If it does not, the hosting bill and the admin time could eat the saving, and a hosted tool would be the calmer choice. We cannot give you a number for hosting, because it depends on your provider.
If you decide to switch
Moving from NewOldStamp to emailfooter is a small project, but the order matters, because of what the NewOldStamp FAQ says about signatures stopping when a subscription ends.
- Set up emailfooter and design the signature while your NewOldStamp plan is still running.
- Invite the team. Each person installs the new signature in their mail app and replaces the old one.
- Check a few sent emails to confirm the new signature is showing.
- Cancel the NewOldStamp subscription last, only once everyone has switched.
If you cancel first, people whose signature came from the NewOldStamp deployment may find it gone, by the company’s own description.
How to choose a NewOldStamp alternative or stay
Ask three questions.
- Will you accept each employee installing their own signature? If yes, emailfooter is enough. If you need it done for them, look at a tool with deployment.
- Do you need banner campaigns or click tracking? If so, NewOldStamp or another marketing-minded tool is closer.
- Do you have a WordPress site, or someone to run one? If not, ask about Managed, or pick a hosted tool.
For a wider view, see the free signature generators we compared and the earlier WiseStamp alternative comparison, which asks the same questions of a different tool.
