Looking for a WiseStamp alternative? We make emailfooter, so read this as a comparison from one of the two sides. We have tried to keep it fair by taking every statement about WiseStamp from its own website, noting the date, and being plain about what emailfooter does not do. WiseStamp is a larger, more automatic product, and for some companies it is the right choice. For others, a free plugin that they run themselves is enough.
If you are weighing a WiseStamp alternative against WiseStamp itself, the short answer is that they solve the same problem in different ways: WiseStamp writes signatures into your mailboxes for you and charges per team, and emailfooter gives every employee a shared design to install themselves and costs nothing to use.
The short version
- Pick WiseStamp if you want signatures pushed to every Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 mailbox automatically, synced from your directory, with campaign banners and analytics, and you are happy to pay per user.
- Pick emailfooter if you want a free, self-hosted tool, you are fine with each employee installing their own signature, and you want to own your data on your own WordPress site.
What WiseStamp is
WiseStamp describes itself on its home page as email signature management for Office 365 and Google Workspace. It says you can manage signatures for any number of employees from one place, with a design studio, templates and an AI signature designer, integration with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, directory syncing so new hires are covered from day one, and locked fields for legal disclaimers. It also offers campaign banners with analytics on impressions and clicks, and connections to CRMs. It lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 among its certifications.
Those are WiseStamp’s claims on its site, which we read in October 2026. Check its pages for the current position.
Is emailfooter a good WiseStamp alternative?
emailfooter is a free WordPress plugin, released under the GPL, made by Ulrea. You install it on your own WordPress site. The company admin designs the signature once, choosing from ten layouts and 24 colour themes, adding a logo and a legal footer. Employees accept an invitation, edit only their own details, preview in light and dark mode, and follow numbered steps to install the signature in their mail app. There are guides for 16 mail apps.
If you do not want to run a site, emailfooter Managed is the same software hosted by us, priced on request.

WiseStamp pricing, and what a WiseStamp alternative changes
From the WiseStamp pricing page in October 2026: Pro+ is $9 a month for individuals and micro-teams, with up to 10 team members, three templates and one admin. Basic is $19 a month plus $1 a month per additional employee, billed annually, and adds Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 integrations with auto-install. Grow is $49 a month plus $1 per employee, and adds campaigns, analytics and rules-based targeting. Platform is $189 a month plus $1 per employee, and adds SSO, roles and server-side deployment. Enterprise is custom. There is a 14-day trial.
A WiseStamp alternative that costs nothing sounds too good, so here is the catch: emailfooter’s plugin costs nothing to use, but you run it yourself. The real costs are hosting for a WordPress site, a domain and a way to send email for invitations, which for many companies already exist. If you choose emailfooter Managed, we quote on request and have not published prices.
Where WiseStamp is the better choice
A WiseStamp alternative is not always the right move. Be honest with yourself about what you need. WiseStamp is stronger if:
- You want signatures installed in every mailbox without asking employees to do anything.
- You want the signature to update itself from your directory when someone changes title or department.
- You run marketing campaigns through signature banners and want click analytics.
- You need single sign-on, audit logging or an SLA.
- You would rather not manage any software.
emailfooter does none of the automatic parts. It does not connect to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 to push signatures, it does not sync with a directory, and it does not track clicks. Employees install their own signatures, which takes a few minutes each.
Where emailfooter is the better WiseStamp alternative
- Cost. There is no per-user fee. A team of 40 does not cost more than a team of 4, apart from your hosting.
- Ownership. Your staff details sit in your own WordPress database. You can read the code, change it and move it.
- Agencies. Turn on Agency mode and you can run signatures for many client companies from one install, with your own name, logo and colours on the app. There is no licence fee and no revenue share.
- Simplicity. Design once, invite the team. There is no integration to approve in your Google or Microsoft admin.
The trade-off with this WiseStamp alternative is plain: you save money and keep control, and you give up automation. For a sense of what employees end up with, here is a signature drawn by emailfooter:

How to choose a WiseStamp alternative or stay
Ask three questions.
- Will you accept each employee installing their own signature? If yes, emailfooter is enough. If you need it done for them, look at a tool with auto-install.
- Do you need campaign banners or click tracking? If so, WiseStamp or another marketing-focused tool is closer.
- Do you have a WordPress site, or someone who can run one? If not, ask about emailfooter Managed, or pick a hosted tool.
If you are still unsure, the complete guide to email signatures explains the options for a whole company, and the setup guide shows what installing a signature involves.
