A MySignature alternative is worth a look when you like the idea of a free signature generator but are not sure you want to rent a hosted service per user, or when you only need every signature in the company to look the same and not much more. The two products here work on different ideas. MySignature is a hosted service with a free generator and paid tiers for tracking, analytics and team automation. emailfooter, which we make, is a free plugin you run on your own WordPress site.
Read this MySignature alternative comparison as coming from one side. We opened MySignature’s home page and both tabs of its pricing page on 5 October 2026, and every statement about MySignature below comes from them. Anything we could not find on those pages stays out of the article.
MySignature alternative: the short version
- Pick MySignature if you want click analytics, banners, digital business cards, or signatures built from your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 directory on a Teams plan.
- Pick emailfooter if you want a free, self-hosted tool with a locked company design, and you accept that each person installs their own signature.
- Prices on its pricing page in October 2026: Core $6 and Connect $7 per user per month for up to five team members, and Teams plans at $2.4 and $3.4 per user per month. All are shown as billed yearly.
What MySignature offers, from its own pages
MySignature’s home page presents a free email signature generator. You choose a template, add your details, and install the result in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird. The page mentions more than 100 templates, and lets you add a photo, a logo, colours, fonts, call-to-action buttons, banners and a disclaimer.
For companies, the same page describes managing team signatures from one place across Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, with central deployment and banner campaign management. It says updates apply across the team without contacting each employee.
The pricing page adds a third layer. Its FAQ describes a Free plan for individuals starting out, with basic signatures and limited functions, and one signature per email address. Paid plans are described as adding advanced designs, email tracking, signature analytics, customisation and no MySignature branding.
MySignature pricing, read in October 2026
The MySignature pricing page has two views. The first is for individuals and businesses with up to five team members. The second is for companies with more than five people that want Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 automation. Prices are in US dollars, per user per month, and shown as billed yearly.
| View | Plan | Price on the page | What the page lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 5 team members | Core | $6 | Email signatures, email tracking, user management. One signature per user |
| Up to 5 team members | Connect | $7 | Everything in Core plus digital business cards. Two signatures per user (main and reply/forward), wallet card and QR add-ons, custom domain |
| More than 5 people | Standard | $2.4 | Email signatures, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 automations, user management |
| More than 5 people | Engage | $3.4 | Everything in Standard plus digital business cards |
Both individual plans list templates, a legal disclaimer, custom HTML, promotional buttons, banners, signature analytics (clicks on images, banners and social icons) and Gmail email tracking through a browser extension. The Teams comparison also lists directory integrations, user segmentation, automatic syncing of employee details and signature banner campaigns.
A few more facts from the same page. The FAQ says a trial of the full Teams plan is available on request, and that Teams sign-up is done at teams.mysignature.io. It says that if you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing cycle, after which signatures, online cards and wallet cards stop working. It also says there is special pricing for non-profits, educational organisations and startups, available by contacting the company. Each Teams plan card on the page is labelled “5 users”, and we could not tell from the page whether that is a minimum, so ask before you budget.
As simple arithmetic on the published rates, which helps when you price any MySignature alternative, five people on Core would be 5 × $6, or $30 a month billed yearly. The sum is ours, the page does not state it, and taxes are not included.
Free generator versus paid analytics: where the line falls
This is the main thing to understand before choosing a MySignature alternative or staying. The free tier is for making a signature. The click data, the banners, the removal of MySignature branding and the team tools sit on paid plans.
That is a fair way to run a product, and it tells you what to ask yourself. If all you want is a good-looking signature for yourself, the free tier may be all you need. If you want to know which links in a signature get clicked, you will be paying. If you have a team, you will be on the Teams view of the pricing page.
A MySignature alternative like emailfooter draws the line elsewhere. Every feature is in the free plugin, but analytics there count copies and installs, not clicks. We say more about what signature analytics can and cannot tell you in our piece on email signature analytics.
Is emailfooter a good MySignature alternative?
emailfooter is our own tool, a GPL-licensed plugin from Ulrea that you install on a WordPress site you control. The admin builds the signature once, picking one of ten layouts and one of 24 colour themes, with six logo placements, up to eight social links and an optional legal footer. People join through an invitation, edit just their own details against a live light and dark preview, and copy the signature as rich text, HTML or plain text. Numbered steps cover 16 mail apps.
Admins can lock rules such as which phone number appears. Counts of copies and installs are shown by day, by mail app and by person. Without a site of your own, emailfooter Managed runs the same software for you, with pricing quoted on request.

Where MySignature is the better choice
Looking for a MySignature alternative is the wrong move in several cases. MySignature is stronger if:
- You want click data. Its pages list signature analytics for clicks on images, banners and social icons. emailfooter has nothing like it.
- You want signatures built from your directory. The Teams view lists integrations with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 directories and automatic syncing of employee details. emailfooter does not read your directory.
- You use banners as marketing. Its pages describe promotional buttons, banners and banner campaigns.
- You want digital business cards, wallet cards or a QR add-on. Those are part of its Connect and Engage plans. emailfooter makes none of them.
- You are one person and want it free. The free plan needs no site and no hosting.
- You want a vendor to run it. Everything is hosted, and you do not manage software.
Where emailfooter is the better MySignature alternative
- Cost at scale. As a MySignature alternative, the plugin has no per-user fee. A team of 60 costs the same to run as a team of 6, apart from your own hosting, domain and email delivery.
- Ownership. Staff details stay in your WordPress database, and you can read and change the code.
- A design that stays put. Layout, colours, logo and footer belong to the admin, and staff can touch only their own details.
- Agencies. Agency mode lets one install serve many client companies, each styled for its own client, with your name and logo on the app.
The cost of this MySignature alternative is manual work: after a redesign everyone has to paste the new version, and the admin gets no warning about anyone who has not. English is the only language for now, and the app does not track clicks.

Choosing a MySignature alternative: four questions
- Do you need click data? If yes, stay with MySignature or look at another tool that measures clicks, such as the ones we compare in our WiseStamp alternative article.
- Should signatures show up in mailboxes with nobody lifting a finger? If yes, a hosted tool with directory automation is the right category.
- Are you fine with each person pasting their own signature? If yes, and you want it free, emailfooter is enough.
- Can you host a WordPress site, or pay someone to? If not, ask about Managed or pick a hosted tool.
If you are weighing a MySignature alternative against several tools at once, the list of best free email signature generators shows where the free tiers stop, and our NewOldStamp alternative article compares another hosted product the same way.
