A Spark Mail signature on Mac starts in Spark Settings: choose Composer, then Signatures, click Create Signature, type the text and click Save. If you already have an HTML signature, Spark’s page says to click HTML at the bottom right and paste the code. These steps follow Spark’s help page Manage email signatures, read on 5 October 2026. It gives separate steps for Mac, Windows, Android and iOS, and this article keeps them apart.
Spark Mail signature in brief
- Mac and Windows: Spark Settings, Composer, Signatures, Create Signature.
- iPhone: menu icon, Settings, Signatures, Add Signature.
- Android: menu icon, Settings, Signatures, + Add Signature.
- For HTML, use the HTML button on Mac, Windows and iOS.
- Set a default signature for each account, or choose none.
Add a Spark Mail signature on Mac or Windows
Spark lists the same five steps for both desktop apps.
- Open Spark Settings.
- Select Composer, then Signatures.
- Click the Create Signature button at the top right.
- Type the text of your signature. For an HTML signature, click HTML at the bottom right and paste the code.
- Click Save.
Spark adds that you can now set this signature as a default for any of your accounts. Defaults are covered below.
Add a Spark Mail signature on iPhone or iPad
Spark’s iOS steps are longer, because formatting and images are handled by taps.
- Tap the menu icon at the top left.
- Open Settings, then Signatures.
- Make sure the Use Email Signatures toggle is enabled, then tap Add Signature.
- Type the text. To pick the font and font size, select the text and tap the formatting icon at the bottom.
- To add an image, long tap where you want it and select Image in the pop-up menu.
- If you have an HTML signature, tap HTML at the top right and paste the code.
- Tap Default for and tick the account the signature is for.

Add a Spark Mail signature on Android
The Android steps are the shortest, and they have one gap worth noting.
- Tap the menu icon at the top left, then Settings at the bottom.
- Select Signatures and enable the Use Email Signatures toggle.
- Tap + Add Signature.
- Type the text. To add an image, tap where you want it, then tap the icon in the bottom toolbar.
- In the Default for Accounts section, tick an account to make this signature the default for that address.
The Android steps on Spark’s page do not mention an HTML button. The page offers it for Mac, Windows and iOS only, so we will not say it exists on Android. Open the editor on your phone and see what it offers.
Spark Mail signature with HTML
Of the four platforms, Spark’s page describes pasting HTML code on three. Mac and Windows have an HTML button at the bottom right, and iOS has one at the top right. The page does not say how Spark treats the code once pasted, so run this short test after saving.
- Write a new message to yourself from the account the signature is set for.
- Check that the signature appears at the bottom of the composer.
- Send it, then open it on a different device, ideally in another mail app.
- Look at the logo, the spacing and every link.
- If something breaks, simplify the design and paste again.
Our guide to HTML email signatures describes what a designed signature is made of, and email clients that support HTML signatures shows how other apps compare. Below is a layout drawn by emailfooter that is a reasonable thing to test with. The company and person are invented.

Example only. The company and person are made up. A table-based layout is a fair first test for pasted HTML.
Switch signatures while you write
Spark lets you have multiple signatures. When you start a message, your default shows at the bottom, and you can pick another.
| Platform | How to switch |
|---|---|
| Mac and Windows | Click the arrow buttons in the composer to choose a different signature, or select Hide Signature to omit one |
| Android | Tap the signature and tick another from the list, or choose No Signature |
| iOS | Tap the signature in the composer, tap the icon to choose another, or tap the cross to remove it |
Spark’s page does not say how many signatures you can store.
Set a default for each account
You can choose a different default for each of your email accounts, and it is also possible to show none by default. The paths differ.
- Mac and Windows: Settings, Composer, Signatures, then the Default Signature section. Select a signature for each account, or choose Most Recent or No Signature. Spark’s page does not define what Most Recent does, so test it before you use it for a business address.
- Android: menu icon, Settings, Mail accounts, choose the account, then Default Signature. Tick a signature or choose No signature.
- iOS: menu icon, Settings, Mail Accounts, choose the account, then Default Signature. Tick a signature or choose No signature.
A simple setup for someone with a work address and a private one is a full signature on the work account and No Signature on the private one.
Edit or delete a signature
Editing is quick on every platform. On Mac and Windows go to Composer, Signatures and click the signature. On Android and iOS go to Settings, Signatures and tap it.
For deleting, Spark gives these routes:
- Mac and Windows: click the signature, then click the Delete button.
- Android: long tap the signature, then tap Yes in the warning.
- iOS: select Edit at the top right, tap the minus icon beside the signature, then choose Delete.
If you do not want any saved signatures to appear, disable the Use Email Signatures toggle on Android or iOS. Spark says they will then not display in the composer.
Turn off the Sent with Spark tagline
Spark’s page has a separate setting for a “Sent with Spark” tagline. On Mac and Windows it is under Composer, Signatures, and on Android and iOS under Settings, Signatures. In each case, find Display “Sent with Spark” tagline and disable the toggle.
The page does not describe where the tagline appears relative to your signature. After you turn it off, send a test message and check the bottom.
When your Spark Mail signature does not show
- Use Email Signatures is off. On Android and iOS, that toggle hides all saved signatures.
- No default for the account. Check Default Signature for the account you are writing from.
- Hide Signature or No Signature was chosen on that one message.
- HTML did not paste cleanly. Test with a simpler version.
- Wrong device. The page gives steps per platform and does not say whether signatures sync between them, so check each.
A Spark Mail signature for the whole team
Everyone who uses Spark sets up their own, so a team ends up with slightly different versions. emailfooter is a free WordPress plugin where a company designs one signature and each employee follows numbered steps for their mail app, Spark among them. It never writes into a mailbox or app for the employee, so the pasting stays manual, and it is English-only for now. Used this way, everyone starts from the same design, and the person on Spark pastes it as HTML on the desktop app.
